Mountain Proof Ankles can be used as a low volume supplement to follow 2-3 days a week, or as a higher volume program (4-6 days a week) for those who are serious about preventing any lower limb injury.

WHAT IS THE TIME INVESTMENT?

This won’t take up all your time, if your current issue is mild, you can work through the program and still have time to do your chosen activity (run, hike, climb) for 3-4 days a week – and make massive progress in strength, mobility as you continue your regular outings

Our original Ankle Program was designed specifically for ankle issues only – and whilst this program helped thousands of hikers with their weak and unstable ankles, we recognised a need to build upon that to include a greater focus on the feet in general and entire lower limb.

Mountain Proof Ankles can be either:

a) a low volume strength & mobility solution for hikers, runners, mountaineers or climbers who have identified the need to improve their ankle function or;

b) an intense program for 8 weeks to improve the strength, mobility & stability of key joints such as the ankle, all the joints of the foot, the knee and the hips.

What equipment do I need?

I've intentionally kept this program as minimal as possible when it comes to equipment. Most of the items we use you will find in your own house such as a step or set of stairs for stretching the calves, a wall to lean against, and that's about it.

Resistance Bands for Foot & Toe work

These can be found all over the internet for relatively cheap and are a progressive solution for strengthening the feet and toes in particular. We don't use these until weeks 4-8 so you have time to other them now. I have a link to the ones I use in the program.

How many days am I training?

Mountain Proof Ankles can be either:
